It's Hawaiian Night!
Want to be back on the islands of Hawaii but do not know what to make? Well nothing says more Hawaii than with Hawaiian Ve-G-Tapa Tocino!
INGREDIENTS:
- 1 Can – Tapa Tocino (cut into bite sizes)
- 3 to 4 Tsps. – Olive Oil
- 1 Tsp. – Brown Sugar
- 2 to 3 Tsps. – Soy Sauce or Coconut Amino
- 2 to 3 Tsps. – Ketchup
- 2 to 3 Tsps. – Asia Sweet Chili Sauce (Maeploy)
- 1 Tsp. – Asian Chili Sauce
- 1 Tsp. – Ground Ginger
- 1 Tsp. – Onion Powder
- 1 Tsp. – Garlic Powder
- ¼ Cup – Pineapple Juice
DIRECTIONS:
- Whisk all the ingredients in a bowl.
- Add the Tapa Tocino.
- Remove 4 tablespoons of the marinate and keep it aside.
- Refrigerate the Tapa Tocino for 8 to 12 hours.
- Grill the Tapa Tocino until you achieve a few good chard edges. This should not take more than 3 to 4 minutes.
- Use the 4 tablespoons of the marinate you separated for additional basting and flavor.
- Serve with grilled pineapple, cilantro rice, white rice, or brown rice.
Tips: make sure the Tapa Tocino is at room temperature before grilling. Properly oil the grill or use foil. Add the Tapa Tocino to the grill when the grill is hot.
